Habs get Clague. Between him, Niku, Wideman and Norlinder, can one of them adequately run a power play?

Avs place Jayson Megna on waivers with Compher on his way back. Probably worth a claim for any team in injury trouble. He's an okay-ish 4th liner. Skates well, wins some faceoffs, and his underlying stats are usually pretty good, but he's definitely not more than a fill-in type of guy.

Goalies up for grabs!

Less than 24 hours after the Avs beat the Panthers, the Panthers claim Jonas Johansson from Colorado. And since Florida is tops in the league, they were the very last team who could put a claim in before he cleared. It probably wasn't a "fuck you" move but sure feels that way.

Also, a day after the Stars (very quickly I might add) announce that Ben Bishop's hockey career has come to a close, they put Anton Khudobin on waivers. He's 35 and carries a fairly decent cap hit (3.5 I believe, too lazy to look it up) for this season and next. Was phenomenal for Dallas in the Bubble tourney, regressed badly last season, and has been well below .900 this season.

Nick Ritchie's time in Toronto (at least NHL Toronto) appears to be coming to an end.

Wild slid Victor Rask thru waivers. Perfectly adequate defensive centre who played with Jeff Skinner long enough to get a 4M AAV deal.

Carolina stole Nino from Minny in that one for one swap.

I think he'll actually be a popular buy low candidate this offseason. Sorta like how Wennberg resuscitated his value.

Rem Pitlick on waivers. Actually has 11 points in 20 games, but an inflated shooting percentage that'll drop. But still a half-decent player who could add some goals to your bottom-6.

Ha ha, Toronto never gets a guy through waivers. Their latest try, Adam Brooks, gets snagged by Winnipeg. And this is the second time the Leafs have waived and lost him.

Poor Brooksie!

Victor Rask back on waivers. An NHL calibre centre, but not at 4M. Good bounceback candidate as a UFA, but unwanted at his current hit.

Oh well. Dude got to play for his favorite team and made lots of money doing it, all while not playing all that well. I'd call that a win. But...geez...coulda timed this a little better, Stevie Y.

The timing sucks for DDK but this was going to happen at some point.

Okay, this is weird...they put Dekeyser on IR now. What? Can you do that?

Forgot that prior to all this, the Wings claimed Olli Juolevi off waivers from Florida.
