Whoa...we got started early.

So far the big deals the past couple days have been:

Toffoli-->Canucks

Scandella-->Blues

DeMelo-->Jets

Dillon-->Capitals

Tracker is here:

They're saying both Boston and Colorado are the front-runners for Chris Kreider.

Still not sure if Sweeney's a good GM or not, but he operates in interesting fashion. Stays relatively quiet in the offseason when all the other GMs are making most of their transactions, then goes big at the deadline.

Honestly I don't know. I still have very mixed feelings about Kreider. Hell of a talent, but he's also of the low-IQ variety and regardless if he's running goalies on behalf of my favorite team or someone else, I still think that kind of play is dirty as fuck.

Also, that ostrich neck of his freaks me the hell out.

I think that was a fake account tweeting that. Looked legit until you really took a look at the "checkmark."

It even fooled Friedman.

Leafs acquire diminutive forward Denis Malgin for minor leaguer Mason Marchment. Low-cost replacement for Andreas Johnsson, who's out six months?

Also, a strange prospect for prospect trade involving the Rangers and Canes. The former gets Julien Gauthier, a slow developing power forward, and the latter gets Joey Keane, an offensive dman. Both have great AHL numbers this season, so the potential is there.

The Canadiens have acquired Joseph Blandisi and Jacob Lucchini from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for Riley Barber and Phil Varone. Both players will report to Laval.

Long story short, Laval coach Joel Bouchard benched Barber/Varone, his two vets, for dogging it etc., so not surprising they'd get moved.

Bruins manage to dump David Backes onto the Ducks' payroll and also manage to snag Ondrej Kase, but also had to give up a 1st rounder to do so.

Jets also get Cody Eakin, he of the infamous series-losing major penalty, from the Golden Flights.

Why do I have a sinking feeling the Bruins will be able to unlock Kase's full potential?

Nice. A third for giving him a chance.

Today is going to be a super snoozer. Somehow the biggest trade pulled off so far is the Bolts and the Devils...and that's only because of the return the Devils received. Toffoli was also a decent move.

Will the Avs pick up a goalie?

Flames (would be nice to pick up a righty) aren't going to do anything and the Bruins aren't going to go all in for Chris Kreider....so....... :munch:

Calgary is not at a level where I would spend futures on this group (offseason problems for Brad). Boston doesn't really need much if anything. So I won't be disappointed if both do nothing.

Probably won't even fire up my 1 time a year twitter.

Price is too high for some of this and player level is ho hum.

Avs gets Namestnikov for a 4th. Solid depth pickup.

Oil get Mike Green from Detroit for Brodziak and a 4th. They needed defence.

Avs like their Russians! Assuming Burakovsky's softness is on the shelf again.

Isles acquire 3rd line centre extraordinaire JG Pageau (reuniting him with Brassard) for conditional 1st, 2nd AND 3rds. Hope the lawyers read the fine print on that deal.

Yikes..... :kraken: Is this a Garth Snow move?

2020 conditional 1st round pick* (NYI)
2020 2nd round pick (NYI)
2022 conditional 3rd round pick** (NYI)
*Conditions: If the NYI win the draft lottery and select top 3, the pick becomes a 2021 1st round pick
**Conditions: The pick is transferred if the New York Islanders win the 2020 Stanley Cup

Ottawa actually does what's needed here.

Joe Thornton and Marleau are back on the Sharks? How many times can they get rid of these guys for assets?

I'm confused, I just can't get my head around Pageau being worth near that much.

Because Florida's Florida, Trocheck to Carolina for Haula, Wallmark, Priskie (local boy who they probably really like) and Luostarinen. Yikes.

Panthers need defence now. Not sure if they think Priskie can step right in or if this move clears salary to add a defenceman.
