Don't remember the last time we had this many key guys unsigned with camps already started.

Anaheim: Rickard Rakell, Hampus Lindholm

Calgary: Johnny Gaudreau

Dallas: Valeri Nichushkin - signed with KHL

Winnipeg: Jacob Trouba - trade requested

That's some pretty decent talent possibly up for grabs.

Shit...totally forgot about him AND Ristolainen.

Rasmus is at Buffalo's camp, however.

Still don't like the use of the term holdout for unsigned guys...they don't have a contract. They aren't holding out on their existing one.

But yeah...some big names up there.

Tobias Rieder signed. 2 years, $4.45 million.

Gaudreau: http://www.foxsports.com/nhl/story/john ... mes-101016

Lindholm and Rakell still in limbo.

Ironically, the one guy who decided to show up at camp despite no contract (Ristolainen) still doesn't have one. I suppose Buffalo might be wary of throwing money at another big, talented blueliner given how badly things went the last time they did so.

Holy shit, I just read on Twitter that Nichushkin's already been demoted to the VHL (apparently the Russian AHL).

He came in saying he'd replace Radulov...hasn't.

Ducks finally get Rakell to ink a very cap-friendly extension, but in order to sign Lindholm they'll have no choice but to dump probably two contracts to fit him in.

And Then There Was One: With Lindholm signed, it's just Jacob Trouba sitting at home. And I'm guessing this one's going the distance.

Trouba doesn't even want to sign, he just wants out.

Yup, and the Jets look okay without him, so Chevy's got the upper hand here.

I can kinda see Trouba's point though--he doesn't want to play his off-side in a marginal role under a bridge contract. That and it sure seems like he just doesn't like the Park-less city.

Wonder who steps up though. Not many teams have the cap space to even take on a player like Trouba.

But the Jets have room to take someone back in a trade. Almost $9 million in space according to CapFriendly.com, so his landing place could send someone back to clear space.

Trouba signs with the Jets: 2 years/3M AAV

Might still be on the move.
