Oilers get their right shot defenceman; Devils get talent. Must mean that the Oilers are confident they are getting Lucic...

Nope.

Worst trade ever was PK for Weber.

Fuck the Habs. Fuck them all to hell.

Wow. I'm stunned. Did not expect player movement like this.

I know it sounds cliche, but I think both Hall and Larsson needed changes of scenery.

Moving Hall for a D-man with limited offense is well, something.

Makes the Gudbranson deal seem palatable.

Can I be mad at Holland because he didn't make a deal for Hall? Like, cmon. An all-time terrible deal. Why couldn't he have made the trade for Hall?

Picks 1 through 6 in the 2010 NHL Entry draft have now been traded before they hit the age of 25.

Pick #7, if you're curious, was Jeff Skinner.

This can't be a serious trade.......and one that Chiarelli pulled off no less. :steamingpileofcrap:

Once again cribbing off someone from Twitter:

Chiarelli has now traded Taylor Hall and Tyler Seguin (and Rich Peverley and some other guy) for:

Adam Larsson, Reilly Smith Loui Eriksson, Matt Fraser, and Joe Morrow.

Who would you rather have?

And I don't buy this bullshit regarding clearing cap room for what will be a pretty massive McDavid extension. The move saves them a whopping $1.8 million in cap room. If you're gonna clear a salary, clear Jordan Eberle's.

Of course they end up getting Looch.

I find it funny that both Subban and Hall were traded for supposed "character issues."

The teams that dump them then turn around and sign Alex Radulov and Milan Lucic, respectively.

I feel like all the old school NHL GM's are fighting back against the analytic wave by making even more backwards decisions.

It seems like the narrative on analytics has shifted over the past couple of years from being the revolutionary 'must have' stat tool and master evaluator of skill, to being one of many tools available to GM's - nary coming close to their instincts and brains.

Anyways, the Oil needed to trade a forward for a D, so even if they gave up a lot for Larsson, they needed to do something.

One thing about Hall: Lots of bumps already. He plays the game hard...maybe too hard.
