Lyubushkin to Toronto for a 3rd and his contract gets passed around three ways.

Leafs are good, so a heavy 3RD might be all they need.

What a weird, somewhat dumb deal from the onset. What's hilarious is that the draft pick the Leafs traded away to get Lybushkin the first time hasn't even been used yet.

Why facilitate a three-way deal to reacquire a player you didn't like enough to keep the first time around? Leafs should be hunting for bigger fish.

And from my understanding, the last time Lybushkin was in Hogtown, they paired him with Morgan Rielly and they simply weren't effective.

Sometimes you send a guy packing only to realize he had some qualities that you didn't recognize at the time.
Some people re-marry their exes.

My sister-in-law's Dad did!

Also, frigging Ken Holland put Kyle Quincey on waivers where he was claimed by LA and eventually traded a first rounder for him(Andrei Vasilevsky pick!) after he was fed a bunch of PP time in LA and Poke can correct me if I'm wrong, in Colorado as well and put up PP-inflated point numbers.

Chris Johnston says:

Oilers zeroing in on Adam Henrique.

As mentioned elsewhere, Canucks might be trying to get Guentzel, and if so, they're possibly willing to flip Lindholm to the Bruins to make room. God, I hope this is true, it'd be so crazy. I'm all for the drama...so long as it ain't my team in the middle of it. :munch:

Tarasenko and Zucker likely changing addresses, with the Tank rumoured to be Florida-bound.

The Mantha trade to Vegas got the ball rolling on rental forwards.

To Florida:
F - Vladimir Tarasenko (50% retained salary)

To Ottawa:
2024 4th RD pick (FLA) * conditional
2025 3th RD pick (FLA)

Condition: The pick upgrades to a 2026 3rd if Panthers win the Stanley Cup.

Vegas has 10 mil cap space with their LTR. They were always going for it.

Wennberg to NYR. Not liked by Torts back in the day, analytics have been kinder to him in recent years. He's a solid pass first 3C.

All the deadline shows are completely ruined tomorrow. No point in watching TSN and Sportsnet be overly inclusive and talk about every other hockey league that no one is interested in.

Time to dress/mic these folks up for an impromptu pond hockey/rec league day tournament (TSN Vs Sportsnet Vs NHLNet Vs TNT). Add in an open bar and it could be very entertaining.

Big guy, skilled, but has a rep as a soft perimeter guy. Should still be good enough in a depth role in lieu of Filip Chytil.

Sid saying he'd like to do the right thing for the Pens and also compete for the cup. Willing to go to the Nucks, Avs and Leafs.

Not sure why he'd want the Leafs, seems to me their top forwards are strong enough, its goal and dmen they need help with.

https://www.canucksdaily.com/nhl-team/v ... in-the-mix

Okay so I've been very concerned about the Nucks trading Hoglander..........but if its for Sid, hell ya!. Still an 80-90 point guy. A tonne of playoff experience and leadership which the Nucks are definitely short on. If they can assure themselves he'll sign for 3 more years at 10 mil or less I'd say they make a package and go for it. Does Hoglander, Mikheyev and one of their top 3 prospects, and next years 1st rounder get it done? Or does it still need a lot more?

The Athletic reporting that Antti Raanta is going on waivers. He had a very, very bad early season, then started playing quite well leading the Canes back up the standings then got hurt. Has just returned butting getting waived to make room for Anderson's return from injury.

Thinking someone may grab him.
