I've never understood the phrase Irish Goodbye. My wife's family take forever to say bye! I'll say bye and walk out. They'll say bye like 7 times, then start an in depth political conversation, say bye 8 more times, ask how all the cousins are doing (there's like 57), etc. I've texted my wife to ask how she's getting home because I'm leaving in exactly 1 minute. The kids have fallen asleep in the car. I've had to turn the car on for heat or AC. One time I was in it so long I had the AC on and had to turn it off in favor of the heat after sunset and a calendar change.
