Peel is retiring at the end of the year and the league didn't actually fire him, so while it looks like they did something, they did absolutely nothing except perhaps improving the officiating a bit for the rest of the season.

All that said, I don't know why everyone is talking this as a "make up call". Clearly the Preds had been taking too many penalties and needed to get called for something. Why yes, I'm a Red Wings fan who didn't watch the game, why do you ask?
