Seriously, this is the worst list of Lady Byng nominees I've ever seen.

https://www.prohockeyrumors.com/2020/07 ... unced.html

So that's Nathan MacKinnon, and two guys who have recently been arrested for some fairly serious shit. Are you fucking kidding me!?

And while I love Nate as a player, and believe him to be a good guy, he's also a bit of a punk on the ice, and just last year had an embarrassing altercation with his own coach. Like, there seriously weren't better choices out there? You could just perenially nominate Marc-Andre Fleury every single friggin' year and no one would bat an eye.

Masterton noms more appropriate: Lindbolm, Johns, Ryan.

All three well deserving of the award.

Agreed. Definitely good choices. Don't understand how they could've been so willfully lazy with the Byng noms and so diligent with the Masterton.

And I'll admit I did not realize it wasn't "Masterson" until about a year or so ago.

MacKinnon, Draisaitl, Panarin up for the Hart.

Leon's gotta be the first German up for a major award since Olaf, unless I'm forgetting someone.

Greiss and Lehner won the Jennings Award together last year. Not sure if you count half an award, or consider that a minor one. Greiss was pretty damn good last year. And a few weeks of this year. Here's hoping he recaptures his magic against the Panthers! They have a back-to-back, so I assume he'll play at least one game.

Just so we are clear: The Hart Memorial Trophy is awarded annually to the "player judged most valuable to his team" in the National Hockey League - not the league MVP, voted on by a bunch of scrubs. However in this instance, I would have to say Mackinnon is that player.

If we're talking "Best player in the league" then I'd say MacKinnon.

If we're talking "Player doing the most for his team" then I'd say Panarin. He's basically putting a Rangers team on his back that isn't particularly well put-together or well-coached, and really hasn't had outstanding goaltending either.

I'm not even going to talk about Draisaitl. Which probably means he'll win it.

Draisaitl wins the Hart over MacKinnon. Lol ok.

And Josi wins the Norris.
