Just another list, but interesting nonetheless. Pettersson ranked #1.

Even if they're ranking based on NHL readiness, I think Dahlin has to be number one. Sure, scoring forwards have it easier than defencemen early in their careers, but Dahlin is a one-of-a-kind talent. And Svech over Dahlin is ridiculous.

Otherwise it's a weird list just because the draft is so fresh and they've re-ordered the whole thing. No way Veleno should be ranked higher than Kotkaniemi and Hayton. Boqvist that high?

I don't know jack shit about prospects and even I know Andrei Svechnikov is not a "Pure scorer in the mold of Kovalchuk and Laine." He's gotten tons of praise because he's just as good a playmaker, I've heard he's basically Malkin if Malkin were a winger full time.

Yeah this list is kinda stupid, but that's not surprising since I think THN likes to put clickbait stuff out there.

The rankings seem based on the years they had leading into this coming season. They are ranking Dahlin lower because their assumption is that is impact, being a defenseman will take longer and Pettersson and Shvechnikov. Does anyone really know though? I mean, c'man. Clickbait.

Yet still, defenders generally take a bit longer to get adjusted to the NHL, and in the last 55 years, only three teenage defensemen — Denis Potvin, Ray Bourque and Aaron Ekblad — won the Calder Trophy in their first post-draft season. That’s not to say Dahlin won’t contribute and likely out-produce most rookie rearguards. The chances are greater, however, that any of the aforementioned forwards will end up exceeding expectations and produce a Calder-winning season.
