I read that 10% of players on opening day are eligible for the Calder. McDavid, Matthews and Laine are dominating the highlight reels. Goals are in abundance. I don't know how long this will last, but for now, hockey's looking as exciting as its been in years. |

Scoring will be up because of both the youthful talent and youthful mistakes. If the youthful talent cost the same or less against the cap as a thirty something defensive grinder then may as well go with the youth. So yeah my guess is it is just an evolution of the cap. |

Wait til goalie pads shrink. It's going to be like football scores.

I feel like the outright Keystone Kops-level goaltending is helping this youth movement. I don't remember seeing such bad netminding to start a season, just across the board bad. Even King Henrik has had some epic flubs so far. Not that I'm complaining. This has been fun to watch. |

Jimmy Howard has been flawless and Wings don't really have any Calder-worthy guys so I really have no idea what you guys are on about Av and Erik. |
