We had this at version 2, but apparently never brought it over for OTP3.

Anyways, thought I'd use this to promote the much better NHL cap website that is out there now...

http://www.capgeek.com/

Really, really easy to use, and if you want to see if a certain trade rumour would fit cap wise, it has that ability. Definitely an upgrade on NHLscap and NHLNumbers.

Anyways, other sites:

http://www.hhof.com/ (Hockey Hall of Fame)
http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_daddy (Yahoo!'s Puck Daddy blog)

Add any other suggestions.

Zoned out there. Man, I haven't been to Kukla's site in a long time for some reason.

Apologies if this has already been posted but from PuckDaddy comes this interesting site: Zorak's NHL Standings and Magic Numbers.

Also, another site that does the same thing as Sports Club Stats, but less pretty.

I found this to be a good explanation of arcane hockey stats like Corsi and Fenwick and so on.

Failed at blogging, but have never tried a hockey blog before. Here is my first foray...

And yes, I'm presumptuous enough to list this as a "Web Resource."

Anyone know if there's a site that measures team Corsi? Behind the Net does individual Corsi ratings just fine, but it doesn't appear to do them for teams that I can find.

Nice start for the Wylde.

That's an INSANE shots-against average, even this early in the season.

Thanks, even though the Avs' Corsi # is way worse than I anticipated. I knew it wouldn't be good, but good God...

Sask, have you seen a study of Corsi or Fenwick on how predictive it is of the final standings?

I suppose I don't understand blogging.....It like an even longer Twitter post. Can't you just do that here? Are or are you trying to get a job or something?

I've heard Corsi has a relation rate to standings points of about 64%. Fenwick is supposed to be closer over a full season. Fenwick Close, as in measuring Fenwick ratings in close games (within 1 goal for first two periods, tied scores in the 3rd) is the most telling stat.

More like just getting back on the writing horse. I'm not really looking for a job per se, I'm happy with the one I got. I really want to get back into long-form articles and I can't do that here. It's true, things like Twitter, among other things, have hurt what was once a very robust blogosphere. But I still want to try. You might see some of the rants I put in here in my blog, but I'll try and actually back my statements up with evidence.

Also posted a thing about my antipathy toward the annual "pinkwashing" that goes on in sports today and just about everywhere else in the month of October. I'll just go ahead and post it here as well...don't know how many of these I'll write, but I really like the editing interface of Medium and decided it made for a better "article" than blog post.

https://medium.com/sports-page/93619ad700e5

So yeah, my ultimate goal will be to contribute some Medium articles here and there and seeing what happens, doing the sports blog, and other writing projects as well.
