Re: Slow means smooth and smooth means fast - new era
I feel like if the Sedins aren’t all in on Stenberg, they probably have a good reason why. They should have good intel on him.

Re: This fucking team...
Valid points both of you. I still think it’s doable.
With not much of a supporting cast I don’t see EP rebounding in Vancouver, and three down seasons in a row puts him in buyout territory, which they can’t risk and won’t want to stomach.
As for the no move, I think Vancouver going through a ...

Re: This fucking team...
Gallagher admits he won’t play out the final year of his deal in Montreal. Doesn’t sound like he thinks his career is over at all. Exactly what you’d expect: they’ll have to rip the jersey off him.
I think it’s not entirely impossible Gallagher to VAN with additional assets for Elias Pettersson ...

Boards of Canada rule. Geogaddi was a life-changing album for me.
The new one is now my second-favourite BOC record.

Re: 2026 Leafs Offseason
The Knies report has obviously rattled the base in TO, but Chayka won't do the deal so it seems the Leafs were literally saved by the bell.
My guess is Knies still goes, but for a top mobile defenceman they covet. Knies gets reunited with Keefe in Jersey in exchange for Nemec. Pure hockey trade ...

Re: What now?
Lucked into a playoff spot but as usual no one seems happy in Philly.
Michkov and Tocchet butted heads. Tippett plateaued.
They need a 1C and a long-term fixture on D.
Martone looks like a keeper. Zegras had a comeback season but I honestly don’t know if the Flyers will extend him.

One year left of Sid, Gene, Karlsson. Letang will be bought out shortly after.
Nothing really in the pipeline. Lucked into a playoff spot which screwed them out of a better draft pick.
But honestly it’s a nice place for Dubas to be in. The bad contracts are running out. Sid can go year-to-year ...

Re: The Hard Luck Franchise
Zach Werenski finally wins the James Norris Memorial Trophy. Well deserved. This time around it's Cale Makar who was a distant second.
Werenski has two years left on his deal before he’s a 31-year-old UFA. Bowness identified who the passengers are on this team. It’s now or never for the ...

Change of plans: Robert Thomas is reportedly off the market.
I’d imagine Kyrou stays too: he’s got some no-trade protection and I doubt the offers were particularly good.
They’ve got a decent core at forward, some nice prospects and one more year of crazy man Binner in goal. They need help on ...

Re: This fucking team...
The Knies thing is insane because I could see either side leaking it.
Pelley could’ve leaked it to Friedman to show that hey, Chayka is going to be fine because he won’t pull off a dumb shit trade like Treliving almost did. This to me is the likeliest scenario.
Hughes could’ve leaked it because ...

Agreed about Seguin. Only way Robertson fits.
Time for Benn to go. He’s a distraction.
I suggested a hostile offer sheet threat in order to trade for Mavrik Bourque last offseason and I think teams missed out. He was great. He might get traded now but the cost will be high.
Harley was scary bad ...

Re: 2026 off-season
Moving on from Lee is a sad but necessary thing. Lou Lams held on to guys too long and I do think you need that roster turnover at some point to let the young guys find their way.
This is Barzal, Horvat and Schaefer’s team now. Let Lee find a Cup somewhere else in the 2-3 years he’s got left.

Hey, I was right about this franchise tanking without Ehlers. A busted clock…
Anyways, this team is at a crossroads. Draft has dried up and the core is down to the Connors, Scheifele, Vilardi with Morrissey’s contract coming up. Not a lot to go with.
Toews was a nice story but he’s officially done ...

My prediction: Larkin gets reunited with Holland in Los Angeles. Byfield, who will never be a 1C but still shows flashes of great potential, goes the other way.

Did Detroit piss away the local kid’s prime years? Yes, but he also shouldn’t have been the go-to guy. Not an elite player.

Already a lot of talk that management isn’t going to sit on their hands and could complete that rumoured mega deal that was close to happening at the deadline. Pagnotta says it was for Knies, Seravalli says it was for Lafreniere. Probably neither if we’re being real.

I just don’t think it’s realistic to move someone on a long-term deal like that unless you really don’t want them. At which you’re moving them for less than they’re worth.

Re: We're Gettin' Old: Avalanche 2026 Playoffs
Gotta say it wouldn’t shock me if Habs called about Lehkonen if Avs can’t re-sign him. They had success with bringing Danault back. Could get some NHL-ready youth back for him.
