Re: 2026 Prolympics
Slovakia punch their ticket to the semis. Clobbered the Krauts.
After the Sochi games, Halak was in tears saying there was no one coming up in Slovakian hockey. Along came Slafkovsky and Nemec. What a difference.

The two crappiest Habs this season, Monty and Gally, lead the Habs to a 5-1 smackdown of Winnipeg. Of course they did.
Habs the second best team on offence heading into the break. Fun times.

Tocchet too old school for the rebuild. Philly occupying that tweener space like always.

Super annoying. Bread Man wanted LA, so he gets LA. LA can’t really rebuild but Doughty is done, Kopitar is retiring and Byfield isn’t stepping up. Kempe and Clarke are alright.

Re: This fucking team...
Dobes loses for the first time in 2026, in OT to the Wild. Habs are playing well. Feels like they’re just a shade below the elite teams, but have the talent to hang with them on some nights.

Went about as well as we figured. Good coach in his time, bad GM.

Re: This fucking team...
I agree. Monty was a fine placeholder but he gives up too many soft goals to truly be a trustworthy number one. He had a career year last season after Primeau fell apart but I think that 60+ game load burned him. Got hurt in the playoffs and hasn’t looked right since.

Goalie coach takes the fall for Montembeault’s struggles. Raymond was a Bergy holdover so surprised he lasted this long.
Dobes might be the no. 1 now. He’s unconventional but has a 17-5 record. Ride him while he’s the hot hand and pray Monty can get it back after the break with a new coach.
If not ...

Avs are stumbling into the break. Not the same team that lost to Montreal the other night. MacKinnon was very much kept at bay.

Habs are losing ground in the division. Starting to get pushed around a bit by slightly older/bigger rivals. Also, need Fowler to eventually snag the goalie job.

Vincent BTW is killing it in Laval and is the heir apparent should MSL ever decide to leave Montreal.
The Habs organization LOVES Vincent and might pay him NHL coach money to stay in the AHL.
