And who's been the one quietly going about his job? Alex Semin, former whipping boy.

The late, back breaking penalty on Benny Pouliot was a marginal call, but karmically speaking he's earned those.

Joel Ward...is one of the most useless players I have ever seen.

Yes I am quite surprised. While Ovechkin is working hard to reinforce my Russian view Semin is going about quietly with a solid work ethic. With everything there is a Ying and Yang I suppose.

Yeah...I am not bitching about the late call on Pouliot. That was a soft one on Thomas. Like I said the Bruins are being beat at their own game (aka getting away with shit).

that last goal was extremely disappointing ... soft short side over the shoulder
for Thomas to give that up at that stage is devastating
very uncharacteristic of him really

not a good omen

Well, quite frankly, cutting Ovi's icetime has not worked, ever. The more he plays, the more involved he is, the more effective he is. Period. You accept the bad shifts because there are way too many good ones. You double shift him to wear out Chara/Seidenberg.

Holtby is winning this series for the Caps, but in this game the Caps were at least the Bruins equal. This will be a very interesting last game or two.

Quite frankly, the call the B's should be mad about was Semin cross-checking Zanon in front of the net to get to the rebound while the B's were already down a guy with Corvo limping from blocking a shot. Semin got free and the B's were essentially helpless to prevent that goal.

Caps tie it late in the second with Marchand flopping around at the other end of the ice. Not his finest moment.

Thomas absolutely robbed Johansson in the period too, lest you think he couldn't rebound from last game.

Only caught the third period but I thought the Bruins played that period extremely well - they gave the Caps absolutely nothing save for that Ovie goal... Then he followed it up by ringing it off the crossbar. Much as I hate to say it but the Bruins were the better team in the third, imo...

He was probably that Preds best forward last year in the playoffs when they played against the Canucks

Best forward on the Preds is the best backhanded compliment in the NHL.

BTW, total goalie interference on the winner. Should not have counted.

Well - most disappointing - the racism that is. The interwebs certainly do bring out the worst in some people.

now I need a shower, that just left me feeling filthy.

Although I do like the comments below where one them is outting the person name and address for anyone denigrating Ward with a racial epithet.

The B's didn't complain about goalie interference.

The internet gives every asshole a voice.

That was probably one of the most boring series I have ever seen. A f'n Snooze fest.

The Bruins deserved to lose. They weren't making adjustments fast enough nor could they because the caps beat them to it every time. Never thought we'd miss secondary scoring.....or wait.....was that 1stdary scoring? Lucic was a pile in this series. Legs of cement. He was always behind the play and late to the net. Get that guy a conditioning stint with Gary Roberts! Krejci never recovered from his plexiglass incident.

The Bruins played well enough they just couldn't get it done from their top line. Props to Seguin and so long Bruins.

The Caps....wow....I didn't expect this type of play from them. They plugged up the middle of the ice and choked up the play Bruins style. They held sticks and mounted people. Somehow Ovechkin bought into Dale Hunter's system enough to win a round. Holtby even outplayed Thomas.

Congrats to the Caps. I still don't think you are the better team but you did enough to win.

Now its time for the Bruins to get a real top line.
