So the Leafs picked up the dude who runs extraskater, which is subsequently brought down, and Cam Charron, one of the Leafs' biggest critics for the past few years.

And everyone still hates Steve Simmons.

There's also extrahater.com, which ranks players on how much you should hate them.

Oh boy Between the Kessel/Spott stuff the last day and Leiweke saying that the team has bad characters this training camp that has only physicals and not even hit the ice yet seems like a media gong show. Maybe the plan is to create an us versus the world mentality for the team as it has been management and coaches lighting the shit storms this time?

Orr and McLaren cut. Straight up goons are becoming an endangered species.

The young guy is off to an impressive 11 points in 8 game start as an 18 yr old playing for Modo. Lord knows the Leafs are due to find and draft a star of their own...fingers crossed.

Once again performance enhancing drugs fail to produce results.

Hey, if they helped keep him in the show it would've been definitely worth the bother. Now that he's been caught? Probably not so much.

Have to wonder at this point what it's like in the conference room with the analytics guys in the room now. Carlyle must just stare daggers at them the entire time.

I assume only Dubas would be in on meetings with the coaching staff.

What is going on in Leaf land?

Outscored 15-4 in their last two games, including a stinker against Buffalo. Phil Kessel had a little hissy fit after that one. Then Brian Burke weighed in from afar.

It doesn't get easier for them, either: TBay, Detroit and Pittsburgh up next.

Anyone willing to bet that Carlyle WON'T be the first coach fired this season?

Seriously, JUST TRADE REIMER ALREADY. Sick of seeing him play the role of scapegoat in Toronto. Don't know why this hasn't happened yet.

Toronto may have cap issues next year and Bernier's contract is up. As messed up as it sounds, Reimer may have to be #1.

They've ruined him. Just send him out of there for his own sake and his wife's.

Something tells me they'll re-sign Bernier anyway, even if Nonis and Carlyle are gone by season's end.

Dreger's Twitter feed will be a must-follow in the wake of the inevitable Nonis sacking. The vitriol will be palpable.

Reimer is the same age as Bernier and has accomplished more than him.

So Mr. Saskhab. Darren Dreger reports that the Leafs used lots of analytics to identify Bernier. Tell us how that doesn't surprise you.

Quote:
Dreger "Toronto identified Bernier in LA by using a lot of analytics. The analytics people won't be surprised to hear that"

Or is Dreger saying:

"Nonis: using our advanced analytics, we have identified that that goaltender playing for LA right now is indeed Jonathan Bernier."

The real question is, does Reimer know who Nelson Mandela is?
