hmm. they're not really rappers. I saw them with a bunch of friends. we saw several people get carried out by bouncers because of being hit, or dropped, or slashed with razor blades, and that was before the show even started. I left the show and there was blood all over the floor. My friend turned to me as we walked up the street from the concert hall and he said, "I think I've been mentally raped."

I think he was referencing Drake's recent issues, not the Pups.

Mac Demarco is keeping me level these days. Dude is chill as fuck

The NY Times wrote one of those schmaltzy wedding articles on the singer from Gob.

I don't think Empire of the Sun is bad per se, but their album covers make me want to punch them in the face.

This is interesting...

Apparently E.L. should move to New York.

And Arizona adds to its overall suckiness.

New Yorkers have exquisite taste.

Kanye West asked James Blake to collab on something. That would be mind blowing.

Avoid Pennsylvania at all costs.

People change, and some people never do
When people change, they gain a piece but they lose one too

So Tool's last album came out in 2006 when my wife and I first started dating, and I used to leave it in the CD player for the entire 3-hour drive to go see her during the first year we were together.

We've been married almost 4 years. It's about fucking time!

RIP The Rapture, one of my favourite bands, and one of my most formative. Dancepunk and DFA for life.

My two favourite bands from my early 20's: The Rapture and Wolf Parade, are dunzo. At least Cut Copy and !!! are still around.

http://www.self-titledmag.com/2014/03/0 ... ll-anyone/

I remember that night in Brooklyn in 2011 when The Rapture premiered their last album like it was yesterday. After the show I had Templeton Rye for the first time, my friends and I ate cocobuns in the gross apartment we were staying at and the smell attracted a bunch of cockroaches, and at 5 am I was running up and down Havermayer St, frantically looking for a mailbox to send a Rapture postcard to the girl back in Montreal I was absolutely crazy about at the time. I remember exactly what I wrote on that drunken postcard too. She didn't say anything to me about having received it, but when I went to a house party at her place a few weeks later and the postcard was on her fridge, I felt like a million bucks.

In the Grace of Your Love is one of those albums that will forever be linked to an exact place and time in my life. I like those albums, but I also basically retire those albums from my collection. Hadn't thought about any of this stuff in a long while; no wonder The Rapture's breakup is bumming me out so much.

My favorite bands in my early 20s were dunzo long before my early 20s.

Farang, have you ever met/played with these guy?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhjBYxSjDFE

I remember hearing them on Coast 800 AM back in the early '90s after getting sick of hearing Van Halen and CS&N 24/7 on CFOX and CFMI respectively. Coast was playing music never heard around the greater Vancouver area, like Nirvana, Soundgarden, X, Happy Mondays, Blur, James, Inspiral Carpets, Smashing Pumpkins and others between 1991 and 1993 when they were on the air.
