Could we send him to edmonton for Jordan Eberlee?

Then Eberlay could be on the second line with Chuck and plekachu, Midget with the two tall bangers and thump thump to the fourth line with Manny and 99 - 77, then just give us the cup.

Habs would appear to be a top-six forward away.

Apparently Eklund is linking Evander Kane to either the Habs or Isles...just take it for what it's worth.

Ryan O'Reilly for a Beaulieu or Tinordi package.

Bergevin has Sakic on speed dial.

Throw in Eller and the Avs will throw in Nick Holden...DEAL! You can even have a Nate Guenin for free!

The great part of that deal from a Habs perspective is that Perron fills in Galchenyuk's spot as Galchenyuk fills in Desharnais'. But the Oil could've had a small, good 2C if they wanted. They're looking for a type more than just a quality player. Eller fits their bill more than DD. Ideally for the Oil they'd get Mikael Backlund or they'd have won the Ryan Kesler sweeps.

Anwyay, I'm glad the Habs are interested in types but won't be handcuffed by them. The Oil seem married to their dream body and not malleable to alternatives.

With each passing game I'm becoming more convinced David Desharnais will not be the number two centre on this team come playoff time. Bergevin's a pro-active guy and he sees what we see.

Pacioretty continues to take on more responsibilities, ones David can't handle. I think DD is a useful player and the sort of heart-and-soul guy a winning team needs, but he can't be counted on for big minutes up the middle against the league's better opponents.

The other question is whether Plekanec-Eller are a good enough one-two, or if a trade needs to be made. I think the team is happy with Galchenyuk at wing for the time being.

Desharnais finally got yanked from Pacioretty's line during the third period of last night's clunker against the Stars. He's floundering. He needs to play energy line minutes with limited pressure to get some confidence back, but I think the game is starting to pass him by. He's consistently going up against bigger/faster players every night and there's no reprieve in sight.

It is time for Galchenyuk to go up the middle. Especially if Eller is out for any amount of time.

Pacioretty-Plekanec-Gallagher
Sekac-Galchenyuk-Parenteau

Also, Andrighetto is up and he's going to claw his way into a permanent lineup spot if he has to. He does not want to go back to Hamilton.

NEW LINES IN PRACTICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pacioretty-Galchenyuk-Gallagher
Sekac-Plekanec-Andrighetto
Bournival-Desharnais-Parenteau
Prust-Malhotra-Weise

I like it. Even Max admitted to reporters he thought his line had grown stale.

DD basically took it as if he'd lost his dog.

Wow. I like these lines too.

Now we need to just bring back Shit For Brains and ditch Alankey.

(let's call that tool Ikeawrench or the Swedish Spanner)

The Habs could run a real fun lineup if when Eller came back, they subbed Manny out and ran with 27/14/81/51 as their centres (keep Prust and Weise seperate so not to designate a 'checking line', they can skate with scorers anyway), and kept their D to have all five of the puckmovers currently in the lineup on the team permanently. Allen/Weaver/Malhotra as the scratches, all three of Andrighetto, Sekac and Bournival playing permanently with Galchenyuk beginning his centre career.

Would they be great? I don't know. But they'd be fun.

Sekac has 2g, 2a in his last three games.

He looks comfortable out there. Probably the team's second best puck handling forward after Galchenyuk. He's also not afraid to go to the net or protect the puck with his body.

Living up to the hype.

Pacioretty was hospitalized last night after a hit by Clayton Stoner. It looked like he injured his shoulder/collarbone. Still awaiting the prognosis.

Meanwhile...

Latest D pairings:

Markov-Subban
Beaulieu-Gonchar
Emelin-Gilbert

Sounds good.

Habs rolled a fourth line of Bournival-Andrighetto-Weise tonight against Jersey and they were responsible for two goals.

Malhotra's faceoff prowess is important, but when the team needs an extra kick of offence Sven can get go ghetto on the other team's fourth line.
