A.) He did not live in Detroit proper. He lived in Novi which is about 20 miles northwest of Detroit and is a suburban area that has one of the highest living standards in the United States along with very well rated schools and great great community atmosphere. Ann Arbor is also about 25 minutes southwest so you can have all the culture you want to. I wish I lived so well.
B.) He always expressed the desire that when he retired he wanted to move back to Sweden with his family so his kids did not lose their Swedish heritage and language.
Yeah Nick was out front of his house every night with a guage and an AK just waiting for trouble to pop up while living in Detroit. Meanwhile the rest of the Red Wings all rode around the neighborhood in an armored Hummer. Dorks
