Looked like the league decided to award Matt Moulson a goal for getting "close enough".

Ladies and gentlemen, John Scott, NHL defenseman.

http://www.thehockeynews.com/blog/john- ... ins-score/

The way he hangs his head after the goal makes me think of this.

You have to think the Sabres are just trying to solidify that last place spot. Too bad they chose to tank so badly one year early.

How did John Scott's helmet end up with Cory Conacher?

So Nolan has put Cody on the wing. Damn, he was known in junior as an outstanding defender. I knew his foot speed was a bit below NHL average and that would hinder him in defense but I always thought he was a pretty smart player and would learn ways to compensate and become at least average in this regard.

From HF:

Quote:
346 forwards played more than 500 mins 5on5 this season. only 2 didn't score a goal.

ville leino.

and steve downie.

downie was the only F who played 75% of the season or more and didn't score ES goal.

That's astounding. For all the shit Toronto got for the Clarkson deal that Leino deal is actually looking even worse.

I changed my mind. The Clarkson deal is still worse.

The Leafs last night set a new record for shots against giving up only ten shots to the Sabres. This is not the Kings, Hawks, Bruins of the world but the shot against machine Leafs....going to be a long season of tank in Buffalo. Any kid worth a dam you can send down to avoid this mess do so would be my advice.

They're doing the same thing to Reinhart that they did to Grigorenko, and I can't for the life of me understand why. What's the fucking point of playing Reinhart on the fourth line of a team that's clearly going nowhere? How did they not learn their lesson from the mess that ensued with Grigorenko last season?

If they don't get McDavid, I can see this becoming an Oiler-type sputtering rebuild. Plenty of talent but not the proper tutelage. Just a bunch of kids thrown into the fire.

Not sure you want Reinhart and Risto taking their licks in the pros as teens. There's still time for Grigorenko and Armia to become decent NHLers. I highly doubt Zadorov is ready at his age.

And Myers. Oh, Myers.

McDavid is in the Tavares/Stamkos/Crosby stratosphere, though. He'll succeed no matter what. Things will fall into place if they get him.

Pretty sure things didn't 'fall into place' just because the Islanders got Tavares. They wasted at least three prime years of his talent. Well, okay, two, since they squeezed in that one playoff year there.

Eichel is quite damn good, too. And so is Kylington. It's a pretty good year to suck something awful.

Are you sure Reinhart is on the 4th? heard the radio heads here today saying Hodgson was centering the 4th line.........or are they both on the 4th line? (GMMG, the Kassian deal looks good on you)

And it seems to me with Nolan's time in junior he'd be a pretty good teacher of young kids. Or they could go the coaching carousel route ala the Oilslicks which would be really bad.

I'm not really sure you have much distinction on the line classification in Buffalo right now and ice time last game looked pretty even. They are just rolling a bunch of third lines it seems as things are just that bleak right now. Happy a team I like is abusing the current rules but really think in a cap world the draft odds need to be such that at best you are guaranteed a top five.

Whatever the case, they achieve absolutely nothing keeping Reinhart up. I don't think they need his bonus to stay above the salary floor either.
